3.30.20 - Spiritual Encouragement Wk #2

IT'S A MARVELOUS MONDAY. I thank God for giving us life today. If you're reading this, then you are blessed! God has given us breath again.

Do you guys realize, that no one who's alive right now has ever lived through a moment like the one we're living through right now! With CO-VID 19, it is massive and affects every aspect of society. This is much bigger than your extended Spring Break!

Does that ever make you stop and think...What is God doing throughout all of this? Where is He in the midst of all of this chaos?

If we don't take the time to stop and think about this, then this monumental moment could easily pass us by without us realizing the significance of it. As Romans 8:28 states, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Let's continue to press in and ask God what He's doing in this moment.

As I was pressing into prayer with a few other warriors, the Spirit began to intercede with us. In unity, we began to pray that God would tear down IDOLS and bring REVIVAL to families and the church.

LET'S PAUSE THERE FOR A MINUTE.

What do we (Americans) hold in higher priority than God?
Sports.
Health.
Wealth.
Jobs.
Families.
Entertainment.
Ourselves.
Relationships.
Religion.
Comfort.
Safety.

How has this season stripped us of almost every single one of these idols?

Whoa. These things have become idols in our lives and often times we don't even realize it.

Every single one of those idols though, pales in comparison to our true meaning in life: to worship God and to know Him intimately.

Look at what 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

That is a POWERFUL promise from the Lord! Are we turning back to the Lord? Or are we allowing Him to pass by as our hearts remain unchanged?

A deep cry of my heart has been that the Lord would awaken His people. That something deep would burn within us. That we wouldn't be fearful OR apathetic, but that our spirits would long for something more.

2. How can you spend time this week shifting your priorities? (eg. Read bible/pray BEFORE going on any social media)

3. Who is someone you'd like to walk through this with? Call/text them this week and ask them to keep you accountable!

HUNGRY FOR MORE OF GOD?

1. Spend some time in deep worship. Sit with God, in a secret place. A secret place just means that it's just you and God. No one else facilitating, no one else keeping you accountable, no one else you have to pretend for. It's just you and God. Worship Him and minister to Him. May He change you in that moment.

2. Dream BIG! Ask God to place something impossible on your heart. Then walk it out in faith that God will show up in a miraculous way. Share it with your small group leader or with Abi. They would love to champion you the whole way.
