Our Response

Cross Culture Youth Ministry

There has never been a moment like this in our lifetime, but it did not take God by surprise. So let's ask Him, "What are you wanting to do IN us throughout this season?"

It's been a season where we've been forced to slow down. Canceled activities and events, I believe that God has been using this time as a reset for families.

We want you, our family, to know that you're not alone during this time. We can still pursue Jesus together, even if it may look a little different. We just need to be creative!

Here's what we're doing as a Youth Group....

MON: Spiritual Encouragement Post
- Sent via LCC app and LINE Chat on Monday @9am.

WED: YG Challenge
- To be issued through Instagram and the LINE Chat
- Video's must be sent in via Instagram or the LINE Chat by Thursday night

FRI: Modified YG
- Small Group Time (via LINE video chat)
- Mini Message (watch with Small Group)
- Posting of video compilation of YG Challenge

COMMUNICATION: we'll be using these main platforms (in order of frequency)...

1. LINE app (you can download the app on your laptop, home computer or smart phone): once you have a line account, ask someone from the YG to add you to the Cross Culture Group!
- Students and Youth Staff are able to connect and laugh via this chat room
- Small Groups will be meeting/chatting via LINE on Friday!
- Beginner Guitar Lessons (run by Andrew)
- Video Hangouts (play games together)
- Looking to hold future virtual prayer/worship nights

2. Instagram: @lcc_crossculture

3. LCC app (Spiritual Encouragement to be posted on Monday)

A message to the parents...
As we are going into this season where we can use technology as a tool to connect, let's be sure that you're also asking the Lord for wisdom as to how to set boundaries so that it doesn't become abused as a tool of the enemy. Talk through appropriate boundaries with your Youth and even put up safeguards in place (eg. wifi filters, limited screen time, common areas to use technology, etc.). Praying for you as you have an intense season of home discipleship with your family! God is rebuilding families! Let's press in to what He's doing.

I look forward to "connecting" during this season! May the Lord draw us deeper intimacy with Him.

Blessings,
Abi Arakawa (Youth Director)
