3.23.20 - Spiritual Encouragement Wk #1

Mar 23, 2020    Your Favorite Youth Director    Take this week to read through the book of Esther.

You all are so incredibly precious to me. As I sit here at home, apart from you, I have a deeper sense of longing to be with you all.

Many times I don't realize what I have until I DON'T have it. It is easy to take things for granted...even something as simple as TP...or the fact that I'll see you every week on Friday and/or Sunday.

You see, in our comfort and safety, we often times forget about the things that hold real value in our lives; meaningful relationships. The most meaningful relationship we could have is with Jesus. Life is unfulfilling and empty without this.

Canceled sports, events, school, extra curricular activities, gatherings, church...life has seemed to really slow down and boredom is hitting some of you real hard.

Many of you are finding yourselves with more time than you know what to do with. Time. Time is incredibly precious because we can never get it back. Since we have an abundance of time in this season, we could easily choose to take it for granted. But how amazing would it be if instead we invested it purposefully into things that mattered?

Here's what I want to encourage you to do this week...

1. Take some time to map out people in your life with whom you have a meaningful relationship with (eg. Jesus, Mom, Dad, Sibling #1, Friend #1, Youth Leader, etc.).

2. Write out ways that you could spend your time this week to invest into that relationship. (eg. Call them, write them a letter, be creative!)

3. Share with your small group so that they can celebrate with you and encourage you.

Connection looks different during this time, so be intentional to communicate well. I can guarantee you that they will be blessed.
